On the afternoon of March 3, 2026, the DHU × Asahi Kasei Sustainable Neo-Chinese Fashion Design Competition concluded successfully at the Performance Hall on the second floor of Yifu Building, Donghua University.
This event provided an opportunity to showcase Bemberg® sustainable materials, and was also a celebration of imagination where tradition meets the future, and Eastern aesthetics converge with environmental stewardship.
The fashion show featured over 60 original garments crafted from fabrics made with Bemberg® materials. Sixteen design students from Donghua University created a "Neo-Chinese" collection that reinterprets Eastern aesthetics through contemporary techniques, skillfully leveraging the distinctive drape and silky texture unique to Bemberg®. The works incorporated plant-based dyeing, 3D printing, and embroidery, fully exploring the fabric's tactile quality and expressive potential, captivating the audience.

The winners were announced, with the team of Wang Xin and Ma Weiran receiving the Gold Award. A total of seven students were honored, including Silver and Bronze Award recipients. We plan to continue our collaboration with Donghua University and host this event again next year.
